Little black sand beach, great snorkeling, lots of surfers out there, and an awesome lava tide pool area. We saw 7 green sea turtles lounging in one of the pools.Full review by darbjustic

Do not pass this spot up! Hiking around the lava rocks was super cool and there were many turtles sunning themselves in the water. Be very careful, I t’s quite treacherous. I would not recommend for …Full review by 706elizabethv

Great little beach. Plenty of room to spread out. Good snorkeling. A couple of giant turtles in tide pool. Showers and bathrooms. Worth a stop.Full review by bigmike100

It's about 5 miles (per Google). If you want a great black sand beach I'd recommend Waipi'o Valley & Beach. Great black sand beach with a beautiful waterfall. You can probably book a …

It's about 5 miles (per Google). If you want a great black sand beach I'd recommend Waipi'o Valley & Beach. Great black sand beach with a beautiful waterfall. You can probably book a tour as it requires a 4WD vehicle to get down into the valley. There are strong riptides there so if your objective is to go swimming I'd recommend going elsewhere.

There may be a local bus to Richardson' beach. But I had not seen one, where as we saw many tour buses that go there for an hour to see the turtles. Then the tour bus leaves for another site, as we had seen the same names tour busses in several sites, e.g., Rainbow Falls, etc. We saw what goes on as our Lanai , or house large covered porch faces the beach, and we spend much time there, the parking lot is diagonally in our view.
