You will pass through twice if you are going to The Tsingy NP as it is on the way. It is about 45mins out of Morondava on dirt road or 1hr+ from Kirindy. If you have travelled the West Coast track yo…Full review by Paul S

Hi All ! Apologies for the late reply. I have been travelling with work, and currently in New Zealand for a break. Ok, firstly I have been in and around Madagascar working for a client, because of this I have made some great contacts. If you wish to visit the BaoBab valley you can contact a good local friend of mine. His name is Morgan. I will put his details below and contact him to let him know that visitors are interested in his service. Morgan does not work for a travel guide company, he is a local in which I used on a regular basis. Ask his price and mention that your a friend of mine (Mr James Kirby also known as KIRBS) If you email him, expect a reply in a day or so, this is due to the nature of the country etc. Morgan is a great guy, very funny and I recommend using him. I have informed him that people may contact him for his services. Mr. Morgan. Tel: +261(0)340517334 / +261(0)333717334 Email: kakaponat @ gmail . com Good luck and hope this helps!!!

I went with Adventure Associates from Australia. I cannot tell you how much costs to go to the Avenue, because I paid the whole 3 weeks tour as a package. Excellent operator, and you need local expertise very much.
Could you let me know if it is worth visiting for sunrise and sunset, or just one or the other. EWe have limited time, but visiting the trees is top of our list. Thank you

We stopped there a couple times, first on the way to the tsingy and then for sunset on the way back. It was really amazing at sunset, but as mentioned above there it does get crowded. Some of our favorite baobob pics were at sunset though so I'd still recommend going for that if you can time it with your tight schedule.
