Little black sand beach, great snorkeling, lots of surfers out there, and an awesome lava tide pool area. We saw 7 green sea turtles lounging in one of the pools.Full review by darbjustic

Do not pass this spot up! Hiking around the lava rocks was super cool and there were many turtles sunning themselves in the water. Be very careful, I t’s quite treacherous. I would not recommend for …Full review by 706elizabethv

Great little beach. Plenty of room to spread out. Good snorkeling. A couple of giant turtles in tide pool. Showers and bathrooms. Worth a stop.Full review by bigmike100

Not far and yes but they are about 45-60 minutes away by car. Kaimu has one you can hike to but it's no good for swimming, although it does have a bar and food and if you go …

Not far and yes but they are about 45-60 minutes away by car. Kaimu has one you can hike to but it's no good for swimming, although it does have a bar and food and if you go Wednesday nights there is a big market and live music. If you want to hang out on a beach and swim, Kehena is a large beach great for swimming but I do recommend swim shoes of some sort and you may see some naked hippies. Both beaches are in the same area Kaimu is right by Kalapana and Kehena is along the ocean heading to Seaview from Kaimu. Aloha!

There is no barbecue pits at the park. However, some of the islanders bright little portable ones to the park for BBQ,

Yes there is a bus. It is the route that goes to Keakehu and the airport. Bus does not run on Sunday but runs the rest of the week
