Carneys Lawyers was founded by John Carney on 1 July 1964. John graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to practice in 1956. John developed a flourishing practice specialising in property, business and commercial transactions. In 1977 John's son Arthur Carney was admitted as a solicitor, following which he joined his father's firm, quickly establishing a busy common law, equity and commercial litigation practice. Arthur's school friend Wallace Meakes joined the firm in 1980, followed by John Dawson in 1982. Stephen Titus joined as a Partner in 2007. The partners are recognised accredited specialists in their fields of practice.
