Volatile spring weather will kick into high gear this week as a potential severe thunderstorm outbreak and life-threatening flooding loom large for tens of millions of people in the central and eastern United States.

The FOX Forecast Center is tracking another heightened threat for severe weather with the initial focus on the Texarkana region before the threat of hazardous weather expands to the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys.

There is a low chance of severe weather Friday, according to the National Weather Service. However, Middle Tennessee is not in the clear just yet.
