Ever since word of The Boroughs, a new series produced by Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers, first got out more than two years ago, the supernatural/horror drama was referred to as “Stranger Things at a retirement home.

The brothers will produce two new shows for the streamer, The Burroughs and Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. As part of the streamer’s Next on Netflix 2025 slate presentation, the brothers commented on both shows and suggested that The Burroughs definitely has some things in common with Stranger Things.

Season five of the Netflix series is set to drop (at a still unconfirmed time) in 2025, with the creators calling this final season the ‘biggest and most ambitious yet’. And while it’s been a long wait for fans, it’s sounding like it will be worth it.
