Michigan head basketball coach Dusty May seemed to shoot down the idea that he was interested in coaching at Indiana

For the third time in the last decade, Indiana will need a new men’s basketball coach. But the circumstances around this job are different.

May was cheered by Indiana Hoosiers fans before Saturday's game, then his No. 22 Wolverines backed him up with a sensational first half and survived an offensive meltdown and Indiana rally to sneak out of Assembly Hall with a 70-67 win.

May climbed the coaching ladder all the way to Ann Arbor. His Wolverines are 16-5 overall and 9-2 in the Big Ten, good for a tie for second place with Michigan State and a half-game behind 10-2 Purdue entering Friday’s games. He spoke this week about his return to Assembly Hall.

May, a student basketball manager at Indiana in the late 1990s, will return to Bloomington on Saturday as Michigan's head coach.
