When West Virginia and Ross Hodge agreed to a contract, the 44-year-old coach had a decision to make: leave in the middle of an NIT run or work two jobs for a week to ten days. Hodge chose the latter,

West Virginia hired Ross Hodge of North Texas as its men’s basketball coach on Wednesday. The 44-year-old Hodge replaces Darian DeVries, who left after one season for Indiana. Hodge agreed to a five-year deal.

Hodge, 44, is still coaching the Mean Green in the NIT. They play in the semifinals on April 1 in Indianapolis.
