Things are no better in the Premier League, with a fifth consecutive title off the agenda after some indifferent form to say the least. A top-four finish is still very much in the crosshairs, though, making Saturday's game with sixth-placed Newcastle hugely significant.

Man City were heavily beaten 5-1 by Arsenal in their last top-flight fixture a fortnight ago, leaving them in fifth place and a staggering 18 points behind leaders Liverpool. They are also two points behind Chelsea in fourth, as well as level on points with their next opponents Newcastle in sixth, who also have the same goal difference.

Christopher Nkunku is likely to lead the line for Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Brighton, with Nicolas Jackson ruled out until April. Nkunku produced an underwhelming performance as the Blues crashed out of the FA Cup to the Seagulls in their last match on Saturday.
