Parker Canyon Lake and Lakeview Campground will be temporarily closed because of black bear activity in the area, according to a news release from the U.S. Forest Service.

Parker Canyon Lake and the Lakeview Campground have been closed to the public because of black bear acitivity in the area, U.S. Forest Service officials said Tuesday.

Parker Canyon Lake and the Lake View Campground southwest of Sierra Vista have been reopened to the public.

There's a marina, store, restrooms, boat ramp, fishing pier and 65-space campground with restrooms, picnic tables and grills. Paddleboats, kayaks and aluminum fishing boats are available for rent.

Nestled in the Canelo Hills of Santa Cruz County is Parker Canyon Lake. Along its shores resides the Lakeshore Trail, a 5 mile round trip trek with something for everyone.
