Charles Manson follower and convicted killer Susan Atkins died in a Chowchilla prison. The 61 year old was diagnosed with brain cancer last year, nearly 40 years after the Manson family murders.

The last words she spoke in public at the September hearing were to say in unison with her husband: "My God is an amazing God." She spent 37 years in the California Institution for Women at Frontera.
