ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Anthony Beauvillier from the PittsburghPenguins for Washington’s second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick announced today.

The fit feels great for Washington’s bottom six, and while the cost is a bit exorbitant, what Beauvillier has shown this season makes it passable. Either way, it’s a big win for the Penguins. Beauvillier was a reclamation project, and they turned him into someone worth a second-rounder. This time last year, he went for a fifth. That’s tidy work.
