The Cedarville University community is mourning the loss of a student who was one of the 67 people who died when a plane and military helicopter collided near Reagan International Airport on Wednesday night.

“Our hearts are broken,” the university said in a letter to the Cedarville family. “Grace was a resident of Maddox Hall and known to be a thoughtful, quiet student leader.” Cedarville students are feeling the weight of this loss.

Cedarville University says Grace Maxwell, a junior mechanical engineering major, was on the flight from Kansas to Washington when it collided with an Army copter.
