The Montreal Canadiens took a big step forward in 2024-25, and they're looking for more progress after acquiring star defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Dobson had a career-best 70 points for the team two years ago and finished last season with 10 goals and 39 points in 71 games.

Montreal is on the rise, with their first stop in the playoffs since 2021. And Dobson will anchor the blue line with Hutson for years, which is a formidable pairing. That said, giving up two first-rounders and a former second-round forward is A LOT, plus the giant extension.
