FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — For Arkansas ace Gabe Gaeckle, Friday's start against Charlotte was a statistical disaster. He allowed nine earned runs while recording the same number of outs. The team came back and won the game 11-10 with a 10-run fourth inning, but it shot Gaeckle's ERA to astronomical proportions, from 1.69 to 7.24.

In his 23rd season as Arkansas's baseball head coach, Dave Van Horn has seen his share of standout players, but Kuhio Aloy’s blistering start stands apart. The sophomore has been a dominant force for the No. 4 Razorbacks (12-1), leading the team with a .556 batting average, six home runs, and 26 RBIs.
