Everton have confirmed the return of David Moyes as the permanent successor to departed manager Sean Dyche. Moyes spent more than a decade at Everton, joining the club in March 2002 before leaving to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in the summer of 2013.

Only a few hours ahead of an FA Cup match against Peterborough United, Everton have sacked manager Sean Dyche. Dyche has overseen the Toffees since January of 2023 with the team failing to finish in the top half of the table during any of that tenure.
Sean Dyche has been sacked as manager of Everton, the club confirmed on Thursday. Dyche took over from Frank Lampard in 2023. Although Dyche steered Everton from relegation in back-to-back seasons amid financial strife, a combination of poor form and an uninspiring style of football has seen the Merseyside outfit act.
Jose Mourinho has been installed as the favourite to replace Dyche with several bookmakers, with the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid boss very clear that he would be open to working in the bottom half of the Premier League.
The goalless draw with Chelsea was the first of TFG’s ownership and was watched by newly-installed Everton executive chairman Marc Watts. His regime was firm in its initial support of Dyche and the status quo while they began work on overhauling the club behind the scenes.
