KALALAU, Hawaii (Island News) – Multiple hikers were rescued from the Kalalau Trail after heavy rain left them stranded.

Rescue personnel found the hikers on the far side of Hanakapiai Stream after heavy stream flow made crossing unsafe.

Kalalau Trail was closed on Friday and remains closed due to the weather. The National Weather Service has forecast wet conditions to persist through the weekend.
