Local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who cover their faces while conducting official business could face a misdemeanor in California under a new proposal announced Monday.

California Senate Bill 627 would ban law enforcement from wearing masks on the job, a response to photos of ICE agents covering their faces as immigration enforcement in the state ramps up.
