A federal judge in Maryland says he will extend a temporary order requiring the Trump administration to bring back federal workers who were fired as the president seeks to dramatically downsize the federal workforce.

The judge said he needed more time to determine whether a longer-term halt should apply to the entire country or be restricted to certain states while the case proceeds.

Thousands of people who were fired then rehired by the Trump administration remain in limbo. Says one: “They want to get rid of us one way or another.”
