With heavy rain bringing the risk of dangerous debris flows, the Los Angeles Fire Department has announced evacuation warnings — and mandatory evacuation orders for some specific addresses — in areas recently burned by wildfires.

Two significant storms are hitting two different parts of the country at the same time as a frenzied weather pattern shows no signs of stopping.

For the second time this year, Southern Californians are evacuating their homes as heavy rain threatens new destruction in areas still recovering from last month’s devastating wildfires.

Forecasters said excessive rainfall could lead to flash flooding and debris flows in recent burn scars, including the Eaton and Palisades fires.

What to Know The brunt of the storm will bring widespread rain starting Thursday morning with peak intensity expected later in the day. A flash flood watch went into effect for much of the region Thursday morning and will continue into the night.
