Edgecombe is a maniacal worker who has a willingness to get in the gym and work as hard as ever in order to take the next steps in his game. He averaged 15.0 points and 2.1 steals per game while at Baylor and is looking to move forward as he prepares for the summer league in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

The time has come for the Philadelphia 76ers to make their selection. With the third pick of the 2025 NBA Draft, the Sixers called on Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe.

While there were rumors about the Sixers moving out of the pick, they decided to stand pat and made the safe pick and went with Edgecombe with the selection.
