DeWanna Bonner couldn't find a fit with Indiana Fever, and then team couldn't find a trade partner. So it waived her on Wednesday.

The women's basketball community has been buzzing about the Indiana Fever's decision to waive DeWanna Bonner on June 25, which came one day after it was reported that Bonner (who had sat out games ever since June 10) was seeking an exit from the franchise.

Bonner was arguably the Fever's biggest free agent signing this past offseason. Indiana inked Bonner to a one-year, $200,000 contract in the hopes that the two-time WNBA champion and six-time WNBA All-Star could impart some veteran leadership and championship pedigree into the franchise.
