The Second Circuit Court of Appeals has ordered the Trump administration to complete the transfer of Rümeysa Öztürk from a Louisiana detention center to Vermont within one week, after a lower court rejected their attempt to delay the transfer.

Rümeysa Öztürk, who was arrested by ICE for writing an op-ed, must be moved from the Louisiana detention center where she’s being held to Vermont, a federal appeals court ruled. The 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Öztürk must be detained in Vermont while a federal judge determines whether to release her from ICE custody.
