Florida State has announced the hiring of Luke Loucks as the basketball team's eighth head coach in program history, succeeding the legendary Leonard Hamilton. He had been the favorite to take over since it was announced that Coach Hamilton would be resigning at the conclusion of the season, and the two sides worked quickly to get the deal done.

Florida State formally announced the hiring of former Seminoles guard Luke Loucks as its men’s basketball coach Sunday afternoon. Loucks will be introduced Monday morning on campus. He replaces the man for whom he played at FSU,

Luke Loucks is returning to Florida State. Loucks, 34, was officially named the new head men’s basketball coach at the ACC school and has agreed to a five-year deal, according to reports. Loucks played for the Seminoles from 2008-12 and most recently served as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings since 2022.
