The hype around Max Verstappen's potential move to Mercedes grows stronger by the week, as does the Dutchman's irritation. Yet, even Christian Horner seems to be somewhat preparing for the moment when Verstappen eventually leaves Red Bull Racing.

Christian Horner has said it would be “embarrassing” for Mercedes if his Red Bull team started the 2026 season ahead of them, amid ongoing uncertainty over Max Verstappen’s future.

Max Verstappen said he would welcome fellow four-time Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel back to Red Bull after the German spoke of possibly succeeding consultant Helmut Marko at the team.
