Marvel's Thunderbolts* looks to top the box office this weekend, bringing in $31.5 million on its opening day. That opening gross puts the MCU antihero team-up movie on track for a domestic opening weekend total somewhere between $70 million and $75 million.

Marvel's 'Thunderbolts*' is opening on top of the domestic box office, while Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" is having another great hold.

However, this will still rank the film as drawing one of the lower Marvel openings in history. It is likely to gross less than Disney’s previous Marvel outing, Captain America: Brave New World, which was released in February and had a successful $40.9m (£30m) opening day and made $88m (£66m) over the weekend.
