F or the past month, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland has been thrust into an international standoff as he tries to secure the return of a Salvadoran national who had been living in Maryland when the Trump Administration mistakenly sent him to prison in El Salvador.

Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen introduced legislation Thursday that would require the Trump administration to produce a report over what happened to the man deported to El Salvador.
